Dan & Kim Saunders
Dan has been the full time minister at VFC Liverpool since August 2021. He was born in Liverpool but moved south to Reading in 1989, where he spent his formative years. He returned to Liverpool in 2016 with his family.
Whilst in Reading Dan trained and worked in various positions in church leadership and management as part of The Well Church, and Barnabas Fellowship of Churches. Dan is a gifted worship leader with over 15 years experience. He has also played many pub gigs and writes songs both for the church and the mainstream. Dan is a Reading fan.
Dan has been married to Kim since 2004. She is employed as a nurse in a private GP practice, so, with leading the church alongside Dan, she has a very busy life. She was born and grew up in South Africa – like Gustaf she is Scouse-African (though the accent could do with some work!)
Kim has been involved in leading praise and worship and song-writing for 15 years. She carries a growing prophetic anointing. In 2019 she did a course for emerging prophets with Glasgow Prophetic Centre. She has a heart to help the church to build a culture that facilitates the prophetic. Kim has led in various roles in church, both alongside Dan and individually.
The couple have two birth children, Sam and Louise, and have fostered and mentored many other children and young people over the years.
They have a real love for the church in all her different expressions and a heart to see the body working together in unity. They long for a church like the one in Acts, moving in power and authority. They have a heart to see individuals walk in freedom from sickness, depression and addiction, and seeing marriages and family relationships redeemed and restored.
Jan has been at VFC for 9 years, serving God and people; doing Pastoral work, Worship leader and Connect group Leader. She is a mum and a nan, and has a BA degree in Theology and Mission.
She will qualify to be Ordained
as an AOG Minister this May and has just finished 2 years of working with the Salvation Army as a Community Mission Facilitator.
Currently she is going into prisons to help with Prison Fellowship and
also doing training to become a Chaplain, helping people in prison and hospitals.
Ian & Ruth Biggar
These two have been part of the VFC Liverpool family since time began. Ian joined back in 2001 when the church was first planted by the missionary team from Singapore, and Ruth joined when they got married in 2008. Yes, they have been married for a while now.
Ruth currently works as a Specialist Dietitian and is also studying for a doctorate in theology, and Ian is a Network Analyst for a large gaming company.
Ian is the tech guy of VFC Liverpool, responsible for sound, graphics, website, fixing everyone’s laptops, as well as writing this well written blurb;
