Pastoral Team

Gustaf & Ruth du Plessis

Gustaf & Ruth du Plessis

Gustaf has been the full time minister at VFC Liverpool since December 2015. He originally comes from South Africa, but has been living in the UK and particularly Liverpool since December 2003, after his graduation from African School of Mission. The city and the people of Merseyside is in his blood and he is proud to call himself a Scouse-African.

Since being in Liverpool, Gustaf served in 3 churches in various capacities, (youth leader, church planter and most recently as elder), all of these positions were done whilst he was employed in the secular as a professional Advice and Guidance Officer, Performance Coach and Leadership Professional. He has also obtained his Masters in Theology from Mattersey Bible College in 2010.

Gustaf is married to Ruth since 2002. She is employed in Public Health where she is training to become a consultant, so she has a very busy life. Despite all of this she is helping in church with the Worship group, visiting people and supporting Gustaf. Both Gustaf and Ruth are passionate about a church that thrives and has relevant influence in the community with a Godly presence. Gustaf believes that a church should be built on reading the Bible, praying without ceasing and caring for families, with a unwavering focus on mission.
